Exclusive: Tammy McCarley Intervew

Tammy McCarley has been blasting edits all over the internet with some serious riding lately, as he show us a constant progress in his bike… With such a fun and unique style of riding, he’s certainly someone I’ve been looking forward to have an interview with! We’ve got the chance to make a little interview with him, so we ask him a few questions…

RustyBmx: How did you get into BMX? Any early memories come to your mind?
Tammy McCarley: It started out with random friends from the trailer
park i used to live in that never kept with it. I continued to fall in
love with riding and have pursued my dreams as they come about ever
since

RB: Do you still remember of your first BMX Bike? What about your
first BMX Sponsor?
TM: yeah it was a 16 inch, and my first sponsor was FIT.

RB: What was the very first trick you’ve learned? What about the last trick?
TM: Having good times. and i dont know i just did a smith 3. Tricks
are kids style lasts forever. haha

RB: Such an impressive and rad style of riding, so much grinds and
street technique with a crazy evolution over the past months, You got it all. Who were your biggest influences in BMX?
TM: Too many people but Gary Young is the main for the longest i can remember

RB: How did you become part of the Amity team? Do you guys have
anything in the works as far as trips, filming, or anything like that
goes?
TM: Big things planned that i cannot speak about just yet but you all
will see. I get my passport when i return from this Coalition trip and
after Nike HB contest in August then im across the Pong and into the
UK for a month of good times.

RB: What do you think you would be doing if you never had picked up a bike?
TM: Not possible, shits meant to be

RB: Have you been in any sketchy situations lately? Care to share a
story or two?
TM: Yes but all i will say is watch your backs in sketchy areas,look
for vibes and any bad signs, and just dont goi, aint worth it. Im
super glad my boys Miles Rogoish and Sean Ricany are ok. fuckaspic

RB: What are some of the things you would like to accomplish in the
next few years?
TM: Get my signature Amity frame going as soon as we get distribution, enter
more contests to rep my support and have good times. Other than that
just keep grindin and getting shit done as it comes along.

RB: Who are your favorite people to ride with?
TM: David Grant, Jeff Wescott, Tony Malouf, Matt Colisch, Lahsaan
Kobza, Miles Rogoish, Ty Morrow, Garrett Reynolds, Sean Ricany, Chad
Kerley . WAY too many. all of you who ride with a TRUE smile

RB: What’s the best part about where you live?
TM: Greatest weather, Greatest spots, Greatest people

RB: Looks like there are constantly new talented riders coming out of San Diego area. Can you give us some names that could make it on the scene in the future?
TM: YES i can. John Stafford. Kid is a G and a true dirt brother. and
if your are a real bike rider than you should know about Dirt Brothers
Industry. our stomping grounds.

RB: Where are you usually found riding? If you had to pick your
favorite spot, what would it be?
TM: Anywhere that the vibe is good. If im happy i can have the best
time anywhere

RB: Who is somebody you have never met that you have always wanted to?
(alive or dead)
TM: Dustin Dollin while skating

RB: Looking back over the years, what would you say BMX has made you?
TM: Into one of the most appreciative and happiest of humans


RB: Everyone has that trick that they just can’t figure out or land.
Is there a trick that is nearly impossible for you to land?
TM: I wanna do downside whips, but cant ever bget my bike under me, so
i just shred the curbs

RB: If you could load up a Van with riders to ride with, who would you
bring and where would you go?
TM: Everyone and Everywhere

RB: Other things besides BMX? Tell us something people might not know about you.
TM: I have a lovely Lady names Tarah that ive been with for 3 years
now. Its great to heal up and relax off the bike with her. We ratchet.
Other than that its been me and Miles and mama trip in the 1 foot
pools i bought i my backyard. submerged UNO games go hard


RB: What plans do you have for the future? Where should we be
expecting to see you pop up?
TM: I plan to ride hover lamas tat circle the planet and trailer all
my friends behind.
